Parish Life Commission
Nursery
It is a special privilege and responsibility
to care for the babies in our church family. It is our goal to make
the nursery a safe and inviting place for all children 3 and under.
We offer the nursery while parents and guardians are attending Mass.
This is a greatly appreciated service. The commitment for a volunteer
is one service every other month. The nursery will be staffed with
at least two volunteers at all times. All persons desiring to work
with children must complete a background check. You will receive
a handbook and have the opportunity to become CPR certified. Volunteers,
ages 12-112, are always needed and this is a great opportunity for
you to share God's love.

Church &
Rectory, Lawn & Garden Maintenance
Our mission is the care of the rectory's
and church's lawn and gardens. With an eye to aesthetics, practicability,
long-term maintenance, and improvement in consultation with Fr.
Paddy, we organize periodic garden parties. Our activities are mostly
limited to the spring through fall of the year, with Saturday morning
until noon, periodic get-togethers. All hands, including children's
are welcome to join in with specific tasks varying at each party,
volunteers learn what tools and other items they will need to bring
from notices in the e-mail, bulletin, or phone calls from the ministry's
organizers. When signing up, be sure to provide e-mail address if
available.

Welcoming Committee
St. Stephen the Martyr's welcoming committee
exists to help new members of our parish feel that they are an integral
part of this faith community. By establishing personal contact with
new parish members, it is our desire to create for them a true "spiritual
home", a place where they are "...no longer strangers
and sojourners, but fellow citizens...of the household of God."
(Ephesians 3:19)

Men's Council
St. Stephen's Council of Catholic Men is
a group of men dedicated to building the spiritual growth of the
men of the parish. The SSCCM helps support its members, the pastor,
and parish in their spiritual needs. The SSCCM also provides help
to other ministries and physical projects within the parish. Future
events include Retreats, Bible Studies, prayer breakfasts, cookouts,
picnics, fish-frys, and other related events. Be among men who are
not afraid to profess that they are Catholic. Contact: Rod Clark
at 770-717-5959 or Dallas LeDuff at 770-736-2832.
Handy Man Ministry
Because the parish does not employ maintenance
personnel, we rely on volunteers to assist us in accomplishing certain
tasks around the church. Some of the jobs take very little time,
just a little muscle. This could be anything from hanging something
on the walls, tightening screws, helping to get items from the attic,
or put them back in the attic (around Christmas and Easter), to
light touch up work with a paint brush. Any materials needed will
be provided. Please don't assume that someone else will do these
tasks.
Contact: Lacy Hendricks, the Parish Manager at 770-381-7488, ext.
223, for more information or to sign up.
