Holy Communion for the Homebound or Hospitalized

Please contact the Parish Office at 770-381-7488 if you, or a family member is homebound or hospitalized and wish to receive Holy Communion. In addition to our parish priest, St. Stephen the Martyr parish also has a ministry of specially trained Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who are able to visit, pray with you, and bring Holy Communion. Due to privacy regulations hospitals are not able to share names or information with us. If you or a loved one will be hospitalized, please let us know.

Guidelines for the Reception of Holy Communion

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have issued Guidelines for the reception of Holy Communion . We invite all people to pray with us, but ask that our beliefs are honored in the reception of Holy Communion and that you follow the request of the Bishops as outlined in the document.

First Holy Communion Preparation for Children

Formation and preparation to celebrate the First Communion is usually done at the second grade level.   If you have children who are older than 8 years old or who may have other special formation needs, please contact Deacon Mike Mobley to discuss how we may best work with you and your child to prepare to celebrate this foundational sacrament.

Guidelines For First Communion and First Reconciliation 

Families of Students must be both registered Parishioners at St. Stephens and also registered for Religious Education Classes.

2nd grade - First Penance and First Holy Communion  2016 - 2017

2nd graders preparing for  First Holy Communion meet Sundays (see Religious Education Schedule)
from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.  in the Our Lady of Fatima Room

Parent meeting will be on ________________ in room ____________ .  Parents will receive their packets of information as well as the required adult teaching on the Sacrament at this meeting.  A calendar with sacrament dates will be handed out at this meeting. Baptismal certificates are due!

  • First Reconciliation will be 11:00 am Saturday May 6, 2017 in the Church .
  • First Holy Communion Rehearsal is scheduled for  May _____, 2017 @ Time in the Church. Name Banners are due!
  • First Holy Communion will be Saturday May 13, 2017 (Mothers Day Weekend) in the Church.

***Middle schoolers who plan on making First Penance and First Communion this year must attend Wednesday EDGE nights .


First Eucharist for Adults

Those who were baptized Catholic, but haven't completed the Sacraments of Initiation (Eucharist and Confirmation) are invited to celebrate these sacraments here at St. Stephen the Martyr. Formation and preparation are facilitated through our Rite of Christian Initiation program. To learn more about this process, please contact our RCIA Coordinator.
